The Domestic Electric Heating and Hot-water Appliances Section at ZVEI brings together the interests of manufacturers of electrical heating and hot water generation. The companies organised in the association cover the entire range of electrical heat generation technologies - from electric instantaneous water heaters and infrared heating to ventilation systems and direct electric heating through to heat pumps.
Electric heating and hot water solutions offer considerable savings potential in terms of energy consumption and the CO2 balance and represent the greatest lever for achieving climate targets in the building sector.
In order to drive forward the electrification of heating and hot water supply in the building sector, the Domestic Electric Heating and Hot-water Appliances Section represents the interests of its members in the political arena and advocates a regulatory framework that is fit for purpose. In addition, it provides a pre-competitive platform for the exchange of ideas and technical work on various topics through working groups in compliance with antitrust law.
The section is in favour of an overall electrical solution that encompasses all electrical heat generation technologies. The diverse properties of the various electrical technologies enable them to be adapted to different types of building. All electrical technologies are necessary for the heating transition to succeed. This is why the section is driving forward the strengthening of the overall electrical solution. Because the future of the building sector is electric.
