Green Deal – "Fit for 55" Package

The German electrical and digital industry calls for an ambitious climate policy which lives up to the goal of the Paris Agreement to limit global warming, preferably to below 1.5 degrees Celsius.

In addition to technocratic and legally correct solutions, Europe also needs a positive vision of the future for the industrial location and society as a whole if the energy and climate transition is to succeed. Decarbonisation offers enormous opportunities: Europe has the chance to become a technology leader and export champion in one of the most important markets of tomorrow. The ZVEI therefore expressly supports Europe's pioneering role and the vision of a climate-neutral European society by 2050 at the latest.

In this position paper, the ZVEI analyses and evaluates six proposals from the EU's Fit for 55 package.
