Adaptive Escape Routing

Explanatory Leaflet 33013:2016-05

This explanatory leaflet illustrates the current state of debate on escape routing and outlines the development of active and dynamic to adaptive escape routing, a concept which is based on a "dynamic control loop with a feedback loop". The concept's objective is to optimize secure self-rescue and links measures of different fields, meaning that constructional, technological, organisational and defensive measures are interlocked.

This leaflet primarily addresses architects, specialised planners, public authorities and fire brigades who are involved in planning, creation, approval and acceptance of evacuation concepts, as well as operators of structural works who are responsible for the safety of their building’s users.
