Safety of machinery: Information on the application and delimitation of the standards EN 62061 and EN ISO 13849 Version 1.1

The two safety standards EN 62061 and EN ISO 13849 play a significant role for compliance with functional safety in the design and construction of machinery, as they specify the requirements for the safety-relevant parts of machine controls. Last but not least, as listed standards under the Machinery Directive and the associated presumption of conformity, they also automatically enable compliance with all requirements from the Machinery Directive. Both standards have been or are currently being revised. In the brochure "Safety of machinery: Information on the application and delimitation of the EN 62061 and EN ISO 13849 standards", the essential features of both standards are described and presented on the basis of the editions IEC 62061:2021 and EN ISO 13849:2015, including the planned amendments prEN ISO 13849-1:2021, as well as the essential differences.
