The annual conference of the ZVEI Automation Association - one of the world's largest trade associations for automation specialists - was once again a highlight of our joint activities this year. The first day was characterised by the general meeting and meetings of the individual specialist areas and departments.
At the automation colloquium, which was attended by over 100 participants this year, we heard numerous presentations on the contribution automation and our industry are making towards a climate-neutral industrial society:
Rainer Brehm, Chairman of the Automation and Siemens Association, gave an overview of ecosystems and Manufacturing-X.
Sven Baumann from ZVEI showed how the semiconductor industry is developing in Germany and Europe.
Tania Schulze, Industrial Analytics IA GmbH, then explained how AI can be used successfully in an industrial context.
Volker Roßmann, Pixii AS, posed the question of whether battery energy storage can be a suitable tool for the challenges of the energy transition.
And Anna Katharina Meyer, Senior Expert united sustainability group, used numerous examples to illustrate that, despite everything, we are on the right track.
The ZVEI Open DC Alliance (ODCA) working group and the 5G Alliance for Connected Industries and Automation (5G-ACIA) also had a small stand at the event.
