Electro-mobility is one of the ZVEI's central concerns. It is about more than just new vehicles. It involves the integration of mobility and intelligent energy supply in conjunction with modern communications and sustainability.

Electro-mobility is currently on everyone's lips. Car manufacturers and suppliers are concerned with it just as much as politicians and journalists. While to some it is simply a matter of saving energy, others prefer to talk about the networking of mobility, while yet others are concerned primarily with sustainability and environmental protection.
For the ZVEI, electro-mobility is about all these aspects because for the Association and its members, one thing is clear: the advent of electro-mobility and the energy revolution constitute a system change, and this requires a new form of coordination between all stakeholders.
The technologies of the Electrical Industry play a crucial role in this respect. For the electrical sector as one of the most successful export industries in Germany, it is of crucial importance that the whole picture can be presented, i.e. the new mobility and its integration into the sustainable energy system of the future. The German Electrical Industry is currently a leader in system solutions and must remain so if Germany wants to maintain its strong industrial position in the world and also become the lead market and leading provider for electro-mobility. However, this requires not only good technology, but also well-trained engineers. Currently the main priority is fast and effective research and development, although the training of the next generation must not be overlooked.
The ZVEI and its member companies are preparing themselves for a new overall system. It is not a matter of the scramble for subsidies, but the offer to support politics and society on the long road to electro-mobility with the Association's technological expertise and market experience.
From the ZVEI's point of view, the efforts of politics and the industry for the introduction of electro-mobility must be accelerated. If Germany wants to secure its industrial base and progress in the energy revolution and climate protection, it must be the lead market and leading provider in this promising field. The companies in the ZVEI are the solution-providers for the mobility of tomorrow. However, some essential conditions must be created so that an E-mobility market in Germany can develop quickly enough in global competition.
